Carlo Aquino initially felt uncomfortable shooting intimate scenes with his ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban.
The two ABS-CBN stars are reunited for their upcoming movie titled Exes Baggage. Directed by Dan Villegas, his romance drama will open in cinemas on September 26.
"Ako si Nicanor Cabangon. Medyo introvert siya," said Carlo about his character who is nicknamed Nix.
"Hindi siya masyadong naglalalabas. Parang ako lang.
"Perfectionist. Nagae-set siya ng standard at kapag hindi nami-meet yun, medyo nadi-disappoint siya. Medyo control freak."
As for her character Pia, Angelica disclosed, "Si Pia medyo outgoing. Magaling siyang makipag-socialize. Broker siya so kaya niyang makipagusap sa mga mnjpqjsstrangers.
"Lagi siyang nasa labas. Kailangan niyang ganun kasi nature ng trabaho niya yun."
What improvements did they see upon working with each other for this movie?
Carlo observed, "[Si Angelica], wala namang kailangang patunayan sa industriyang ito."
Angelica said about her ex-boyfriend, "Gagaling at gagaling lang naman siya. Hindi siya titigil sa pag-improve. Napakatinding honor na makatrabaho ko siya ulit. Kumbaga ma-experience ulit ang brilliance niya bilang artista."
When asked to describe their kissing scene, the Kapamilya actor recalled:
"Nag kissing scene kami sa MMK [Maalaala Mo Kaya].
"[Dito sa Exes Baggage] mas ano lang 'to...wilder. May tongue ng konti," quipped Carlo.
Is it harder or easier for them to shoot a kissing scene with someone who used to be their significant other?
Carlo said with a smile: "Siya lang naman ang ex ko so feeling ko wala akong pagkukumparahan."
Did they also shoot a love scene in this movie directed by Dan Villegas?
"Meron, meron. Masarap naman," deadpanned Angelica.
"Okay, good, good. Pag napanood niyo, masasabi niyo, 'parang tama yung sabi ni Angelica, yummy.' Ang yummy niya. Ang yummy niya sa movie!
"Bakit kayo tawang-tawa? Pag ibang artista 'to, hindi ko ex, wala lang 'to sa inyo, bini-big deal niyo."
Carlo interjected, "Hindi kasi sila maniwala na yummy ako."
When asked if they felt awkward doing intimate scenes with each other, Carlo admitted, "Siguro nung first few takes, medyo nung simula. Nung medyo uminit na yung set, okay na. Kailangan lang ng ilang shots muna bago..."
