Good news for fans of the Superstar and the Star for All Seasons!
In an interview recently with ABS-CBN News, Nora Aunor said that she would love to share the big screen again with professional rival Vilma Santos.
“May mga kumakausap sa amin na gumawa ng pelikula, pero ang nagiging problema nga lang ay yung scheduling, baka hindi magtugma ang scheduling,” answered the Superstar.
Two of the brightest and most talented stars of their generation, there is no debating that both actresses have proven their mettle, having worked with some of the best Filipino directors of all time: Lino Brocka, Ishmael Bernal, Marilou Diaz-Abaya, among others.
Nora and Vilma both have successful acting careers individually and as half of loveteams—Nora with Tirso Cruz III and Vilma with Bobot Mortiz.
Their fans (Noranians and Vilmanians) were so rabid at some point that they engaged in fights in public.
However, the two stars themselves have worked well with each other. They shared intense scenes in Ikaw Ay Akin directed by Ishmael Bernal. They last acted in a film together in Ang T-Bird at Ako in 1982.
Vilma is currently serving as representative of the 4th district of Batangas.
Nora is active in front of the cameras as well as behind. She is part of the GMA-7 teleserye Onanay and the business manager of singer John Rendez, who recently signed a contract with Star Records.
“Malay natin, the time will come when we will be together again [onscreen],” said Nora.
