Baron Giesler recently attended the invitational screening of Brillante Mendoza’s film Alpha: The Right to Kill.

The Philippine premiere was held on January 11, 2019, at the new Director's Club Cinema at The Podium. Alpha is scheduled to open in cinemas nationwide starting today, January 16.

Baron plays a drug lord named Abel in this film, which earned the Special Jury Prize at the 66th San Sebastián Film Festival in September 2018.

Allen Dizon is cast as a corrupt cop named Moises Espino.

He relies on information provided by a thug and a police informer (played by Elijah Filamor).

Through his Instagram account, Baron thanked his supportive fans and shared photos taken during the Philippine premiere.

Baron's calm and peaceful demeanor was noticed by Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairman Liza Diño. She posted her photo with Baron and wrote in the caption:

"You have no idea how proud I am to see you so clean and calm and at peace with yourself. You look amazing, Baron, and I can see that you are genuinely pleased with who you are now. Sana magtuloy-tuloy na. You are the captain of your own ship. To sink or swim will be your own choice. I'm just here. I'm a text or call away. Alam mo yan. Grabe. I'm sobrang proud of you! Hugs. Congrats on this film and your next ones. Pakabait na ah!"

SHOWBIZ COMEBACK?

Baron expressed his hopes about making a showbiz comeback.

“I’m praying, sana makabalik sa Star Magic," said Baron in an interview with ABS-CBN News during the premiere.

“Siguro sa buong stay ko sa rehab, isa yun sa halos pinagdadasal ko araw-araw.”

He entered a rehab facility in Cebu after getting into a bloody fight with his family members.

“Ipinapangako ko po sa sarili ko to keep working on my program, my structure, and sustain sobriety. I’m praying to sustain my work, my job and my business.”

While on hiatus from showbiz, Baron is busy running the Gents Barber Shop, his own business based in Cebu.

He also gives talks about mental health issues.

Baron revealed that he had the chance to talk to Star Magic chairman emeritus Johnny Manahan, more popularly known as Mr. M.

“I feel good. Actually, I just came from ABS-CBN. I visited Star Magic, I reconnected with them and I really had a good talk with Mr. M, my mentor, my godfather in our industry.”

In his Instagram account, Baron posted his photo with Mr. M and wrote in the caption:

"It was such as blessing to visit my Mentor and GodFather in the industry. I was also very happy to reconnect with my #StarMagicFamily #ThankYou #PraiseGod"
