20th Century Fox offers fanciful films for 2nd half of 2009

Scrat will find love when he meets Scratte, a female sabre-toothed squirrel in Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

The upcoming delightfully imaginative films Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian, Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, They Came from Upstairs and The Fantastic Mr. Fox will bring kids and families into worlds where fun and adventure run wild in the second half of the year.

Movers of history battle in Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian starring Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson and Robin Willliams. Ben Stiller is back in this hilarious sequel trying to stop an impending takeover plot. Helping him on his mission is Earhart (a wax model that has come to life) portrayed by Amy Adams and a host of other historical figures. This time, not only do creatures and animals come to life, but aircraft and rockets and art works and sculptures and paintings. In the movie, everything is on a much bigger and more dramatic scale.

Ice Age favorites move in time in Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. After the meltdown, life begins to change for Manny and his friends: Scrat is still on the hunt to hold onto his beloved acorn, while finding a possible romance in a female sabre-toothed squirrel named Scratte. Manny and Ellie, having since become an item, are expecting a baby, which leaves Manny anxious to ensure that everything is perfect when his baby arrives. Diego is fed up with being treated like a house-cat and ponders the notion that he is becoming too laid-back. Sid begins to wish for a family of his own ending up in a strange underground world dodging dinosaurs and facing danger left and right.

High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale fights aliens in the Gremlins-meet-Home Alone-comedy Aliens from the Attic (previously titled They Came from Upstairs). In the movie, a group of children attempt to defend their Maine vacation home from invading extraterrestrial forces as the malevolent aliens make their way from the upper floor of the house to the ground level. The movie is directed by first time feature filmmaker Thor Freudenthal from a script penned by British scribe Mark Burton who also wrote the award-winning Wallace & Gromit.

Featuring the voices of George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Bill Murray, The Fantastic Mr. Fox is about a crafty fox and his family being targeted for death by the three dumb, plug-ugly farmers who tire of sharing their chickens with the critter. The movie is based on the book by Roald Dahl, the most successful and beloved children's book writer who also wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

All these films from 20th Century Fox are coming soon in the Philippines.
