After winning the Best Actress award in the 6th Cinemalaya for the indie film Mayohan, Lovi Ppe is set to star in several high profile projects. The singer-actress will be seen first in the forthcoming horror film of Topel Lee titled White House.
In this Regal Films production, Lovi plays a reality show contestant who aims to survive in the haunted Laperal Mansion in Baguio City. Lovi stars with Gabby Concepion and Iza Calzado in this horror flick, which will be shown in theaters on October 20. The red carpet premiere night will be held on October 19 at SM Megamall Cinema 9 at 7 PM. White House also stars Maricar Reyes, Mo Twister, Joem Bascon, and among others.
Lovi is also set to star in GMA-7’s afternoon soap titled Little Star, wherein she acts opposite Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Anthony Fernandez. Lovi is excited with her new role because she plays a famous, ambitious celebrity and model who rebels against her "stage" mother, and tries to seek love and happiness.
The daughter of Fernando Poe Jr. is also excited by the fact that she will be working with director Maryo J. De los Reyes for the first time. "It’s always nice to know when you’re working with the best directors in the industry," says Lovi.
Lovi will also be making a guest appearance in the new primetime soap, Beauty Queen, which will air its pilot episode this Monday, October 18, on GMA-7. Lovi will play the young Elizabeth Oropesa, a newly crowned beauty queen whose dreams are shattered when she becomes a rape victim.
What’s next for Lovi? She is set to appear in the remake of Temptation Island under the direction of Chris Martinez and produced by Regal as well. The Kapuso actress is also slated to star in her own drama picture, and she will be part of another televison series. She also hopes to return to the recording scene through her upcoming third album.
