Gary Valenciano to star in a mainstream film again after 17 years

Gary Valenciano is happy to work on the film I Do Bi Doo, Bi Doo, which is written and directed by Chris Martinez and produced by Unitel Productions, Inc.

"I’m so happy! Yes!

"I Do Bi Doo, Bi Doo is a musical featuring the songs of APO Hiking Society."

"Unitel kasi is very close to Angeli [Valenciano]. So, Tony Gloria said, ’would Gary be interested?’

"Then Zsa Zsa [Padilla] came in to my dressing room, I remember that time, may kumatok pa sa pintuan ng dressing room ko sa A.S.A.P., ’are you doing it?’

"She said, ’I read the script, if you accept it I think you should do this part, you get that part kasi kulang ’yong part mo.’ I was like, ’I don’t know! I haven’t done a movie for a long time.’

"But then I went through the script and it’s kinda nice especially if you see the confrontations and the conflicting ideas of what a family should be, ’yon pala they all want the same thing."

THE FILM.

"My role is the husband of Zsa Zsa and my daughter is Tippy Dos Santos gets involved with Sam Concepcion or rather to the character of Sam Concepcion, who is the son of Ogie Alcasid and Eugene Domingo.

"I come from an extremely rich background, I’m a no-nonsense father, conservative, businessman, but with a heart of a father.

"Pero somewhere along the way I kind of lost it.

"So, I don’t show it much with my daughter, and the first scene that we shot which is last Tuesday or two Tuesdays ago was ’Batang Bata Ka Pa.’

"Kami ni Zsa Zsa in that film we’re husband and wife, but not exactly husband and wife. Parang there’s no sign, she’s so frustrated and I’m into my business."

Paliwanag ni Gary, "By lines, by scene. I mean it really plays a role.

"Minsan out of the blue biglang, halimbawa nag-uusap, may argument biglang, ’batang bata ka pa...’ di ba, parang gano’n, then ’yon pala on the other side, ’yon din ang nangyayari but with the son."

"It is my first for the long time, and I think my first time to do a film like this.

"During the meeting namin Jim Paredes was there, he knows how it is going to be treated so he’s there, and he’s very excited about it."
