Last December 20, Sitti signed up with MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines). She was previously an artist of Warner Music Philippines for the past six years.
The singer dubbed as the Philippines’ Queen of Bossa Nova will join its roster of top OPM artists including bands such as Urbandub, Pupil, Franco, Chicosci, The Oktaves, Tanya Markova and Pedicab and solo acts Nyoy Volante, Sabrina, Solenn Heussaff, Barbie Forteza and Ron Henley.
In an interview with PEP.ph, the 28-year old actress said that she is looking forward to working again with MCA Music President Ricky Ilacad. “I’m really excited more than anything kasi yun nga yung history kasi, si boss Ricky [Ilacad] was the managing director of Warner Music when they signed me up back in 2006 and then before I launched the album, they talked to me na Sir Ricky was leaving for another company,” said Sitti.
“Meron kaming kumbaga nasimulan nung 2006 ni Sir Ricky. Ito yung chance namin to continue that and I’m really really excited kasi bilib din ako sa kanya as a person, a creative person so I’m really, really excited,” she added.
As for her new album, Sitti said that there are no concrete plans yet. “I believe for the next album we’ll be shifting back to bossa nova, more close to the sound that I’m related to by many,” she revealed.
“Mag-uusap pa lang kami about what’s next to do album-wise so, balitaan ko na lang kayo when I’m ready to talk about it. Right now, we just signed and yun.”
“Hopefully, may maisulat ako for the new album kasi yung last namin puro originals yun, e. May dalawa akong sinulat dun sa last and hopefully this one meron din.”
