Faith Cuneta recently released a new album under Viva Records titled Faith Begins: The Live Album. She was recently proclaimed "Ambassadress for Culture and the Arts" by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) earlier this year.
Often tagged the Asian Novela Diva, Faith interpreted the theme songs of GMA-7 Asianovelas. Among the theme songs she sung for Filipino-dubbed Korean soap operas are "Langit Ka" for Stairway to Heaven; "Di Ko Na Kaya" for Endless Love 2-Winter Sonata; and "Pangarap na Bituin" for Jewel in the Palace. Her latest project was the theme song "Mapagkunwari" for GMA-7's now defunct primetime soap Impostora.
This new album is expected to establish Faith as a major artist in the recording industry. After winning the Best Female Performance in a Concert in the recent Aliw Awards, this new live album is a crossover from the Filipino theme songs she used to sing, to an all-English romantic ballad album recorded with a 16-piece orchestra.
Faith Begins: The Live Album features an 18-track selection that spans the ‘30s to the year 2000. Faith pays tribute to her lounge days with gems such as "No Other Love," "I'll Be Seeing You," "Sealed with a Kiss," "This Girl's In Love With You," and other hit songs. Her version of Air Supply's "Come What May" is the carrier song of her album.
Faith Begins: The Live Album is now available in leading record bars.
