The Circus Band and The New Minstrels Greatest Hits Reunion concert will take place this Friday

The New Minstrels and the Circus Band—two show bands that dominated the local entertainment circuit in the '70s—will once again be performing together in a very special show.

Titled The Circus Band and The New Minstrels Greatest Hits Reunion concert, this event will be held this Friday, September 20, at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center at the CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard.

Produced by Viva Live Inc. and Redstone Media Productions, the concert series will also have other performances at the University of Baguio in Baguio City on September 26 and at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu on September 28.

Prepare for an evening of R&B, disco, rock, funk, romantic ballads and other great sounds from the '70s like "The Harder I Try," "I Just Don’t Want To Be Lonely," "Celebration," "Mr. Melody," "One In A Million," "There’s No Easy Way," "Love The One You’re With," "Wildflower" and others from Motown, Santana, Barry Manilow, Earth Wind & Fire and many more.

Performing will be Hajji Alejandro, Tillie Moreno, Pat Castillo, Jacqui Magno and Basil Valdez of the Circus Band and Louie Reyes, Ding Mercado, Joey Albert, Ray-An Fuentes, Chad Borja and Eugene Villaluz. Former Circus lead guitarist Rudy Lozano is the musical director.

The CD has Basil Valdez singing "Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas," Louie Reyes with "Sa Isip Ko," Pat Castillo in "Pagdating Ng Panahon," Jacqui Magno with "Let The Pain Remain," Eugene Villaluz for "Mahawi Man Ang Ulap," Ding Mercado with "I Can," Joey Albert with "Hindi Na," Ray-an Fuentes with "Habang May Buhay," Chad Borja for "Kahit Na" plus a rousing version of "Never Ever Say Goodbye" by Chad, Ding, Eugene and Ray-An.
