Filipino viewers got a surprise treat from The Voice of the Philippines when coach Lea Salonga performed with American Grammy-winning jazz artist Patti Austin at the live show Sunday night (September 8), eliciting cheers from the live audience and netizens on social media.

Salonga sang Austin’s hit “I Believe” with The Voice PH artists before calling on stage Austin, who joined and sang with her Austin’s song “In My Life.” Many netizens deemed the rare performance world-class, and were touched by Austin’s comment that “the greatest singers around the world tend to be from the Philippines.”
