Daniel Padilla nominated in three categories of 2013 World Music Awards

Daniel Padilla is competing in the World's Best Male Artist category of the 2013 World Music Awards along with (from upper left, clockwise) Darey, Darius Rucker, David Guetta, David Bowie, and David Archuleta, among others.

Daniel Padilla is competing against Justin Bieber and other music heavyweights from around the globe in the 2013 World Music Awards.

The teen recording artist is nominated in three categories of the WMA namely World's Best Male Artist, World's Best Live Act, and World's Best Entertainer of the Year.

Aside from Daniel, Christian Bautista and Jed Madela are other Filipino singers nominated in the World's Best Male Artist category. They have to compete against international singers such as David Guetta, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, and many others.

In the Best Live Act category, the Pinoy contenders are Daniel, Jed, Sarah Geronimo, and Regine Velasquez. They are up against Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Jennifer Lopez, as well as K-pop superstars Psy and Super Junior, among others.

Just like Sarah and Regine, Daniel and Jed are nominated in the Best Entertainer of the Year category. Fellow contenders are Adele, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Madonna, Ne-Yo, among others.

According to its official website, the World Music Awards "honours the best-selling recording artists from every continent. The WORLD MUSIC AWARDS are presented on sales merit and voted by the public on the Internet."

The recording artists are chosen based on global sales figures provided
by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.

The nine awards given out are: World's Best Male Artist, Best Female,
Best Group, Best Electronic Dance Music Artist, Best Entertainer of the Year, Best Live Act, Best Song, Best Album and Best Video.
