Toni Gonzaga says audiences can expect an intense showdown with younger sister, Alex Gonzaga, in her upcoming concert titled Celestine.
“Gagawin na rin namin ‘yong ine-expect or laging iniisip sa amin ng tao,” Toni said during a recent press conference for her 15th anniversary concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on October 3.
The TV host-actress-singer said for once they will give what the public wants from them.
“For the longest time, ever since Alex entered showbiz, parang they’re always trying to put a rivalry between us, ‘yong sibling rivalry.
“Since ‘yon ang palaging ine-expect sa amin, hindi namin naiintindihan kung bakit, kaya ibibigay na namin ‘yon sa concert,” she smiled.
She joked, “Magpapakita na kami ng rivalry, bahala na silang humusga kung kanino.
“Magkakaroon lang kami ng magandang production number that they will really enjoy, which will showcase also our personalities.”
Toni also promises that the concert will be all about her and her music.
“We are not doing Lady Gaga songs, wala Taylor Swift, wala kaming mga covers,” she revealed.
“Talagang we’re going to showcase original Pinoy music, music in my albums, na bibigyan ng ibang flavor at ng ibang collaborations and mashups.”
Toni also stressed, “It’s really to showcase what I can do, ‘yong music ko, and share to everyone ‘yong musical influences ko.”
Apart from her sister Alex, Toni will also have Piolo Pascual and Vice Ganda as her special guests for the concert.
Celestine is directed by Paolo Valenciano while Homer Flores serves as the musical director.
The event is produced by Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, under her DSL Events and Production House, together with ABS-CBN, Star Records, and Star Events.
