Gloc-9 explains why he avoids having a concert at the Araneta Coliseum

Performing at the Big Dome is usually part of every local music artist's goal in their career, except maybe for popular rapper Gloc-9.

The award-winning hip-hop artist admitted at a press conference recently that he has been offered to perform at the Araneta Coliseum a number of times but declined them.

However, Gloc 9 reconsidered the newest offer when he found out that ICON: The Concert will be a collaboration with fellow musicians, Rico Blanco and Yeng Constantino.

NOT AN ICON. While their concert is titled as “Icon,” the Awit Award-winning rapper does not consider himself an icon yet. In fact, he always humbly says in interviews that he is not yet at par with the late Pinoy King of Rap, Francis Magalona.

He explained that the word “ICON” was just a play of word from his, Rico and Yeng's names.

COLLABORATIONS. While each of the three featured artists will have a solo spot during the concert, Gloc-9 says concertgoers can also expect several performance collaborations between him, Rico, and Yeng.

So, it's a make or break din po sa akin.”
