Reel and real-life sweethearts Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo are kicking off 2020 with CoLove Live, their very first concert together. It will take place at the New Frontier Theater on February 15, 2020.

It all started with their YouTube collaboration called "CoLove" where they sing '80s and '90s love songs. The songs uploaded on Jennylyn's YouTube channel drew hundreds of kilig comments from netizens who idolize the two Kapuso stars.

Netizens love the couple's rendition of Barbara Streisand's "Finally Found Someone." In the video, Dennis could barely take his eyes off Jennylyn throughout their performance.

In one of their vlogs, Jennylyn and Dennis took on the challenge of going undercover and performing live at the crowded LRT station in Roosevelt, Quezon City.

Jennylyn pretended to be a blind person with a belly bulge, while Dennis got himself a fake beard and wig that gave him a look "ala Direk Carlo J. Caparas."

The two GMA-7 stars had an exclusive interview with (Philippine Entertaiment Portal) recently.

All the logistics and pre-arrangement of their band set at the LRT station were prepared by Jan Enriquez who is in charge of the couple's YouTube vlogs.

Dennis, for his part, was equally excited about doing an undercover challenge as per the request of one of their YouTube followers.

"Matagal na namin yun gusto gawin kasi mahilig kami manood ng TV shows ni Jimmy Fallon," said Dennis, referring to the TV host of the American late-night talk show The Tonight Show.

He continued: "Tapos nakikita namin yung ginagawa niya sa subway sa New York.

Jennylyn and Dennis treated commuters to OPM hits such as Aegis's "Sinta," Renz Verano's "Remember Me," and Donna Cruz's "Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso."

Then Jennylyn eventually removed the black shawl covering her head, while Dennis took off his fake beard and wig.

This made commuters stop and take videos of the couple singing Peter Cetera's '80s song "After All."

colove live, an impromptu venture

Jennylyn and Dennis have continuously been receiving positive feedback for their CoLove vlogs. This prompted their YouTube manager Jan to joke about taking CoLove Live to a bigger venue.

"Plano lang talaga yun. Actually si Jan nakaisip nun. 'Bessy, pagka ano, concert na ito.' Ting! Concert! Ayun na."

Jennylyn made a phone call to Katrina Aguila, her co-manager who happens to be the daughter of talent manager, Becky Aguila.

"Tapos sila, 'Oo nga!' Agad-agad, meron na kaming plano, meron na kaming director."

Dennis interjected, smiling, "May venue na. Nag-down payment agad. Na-excite lahat."

Jennylyn added, "Si Kat ang punong abala. Hindi natutulog. Paggising ko 52 messages. Hahaha!"

For CoLove Live, Jennylyn and Dennis said they picked love songs with sentimental feels from the '80s and '90s.

Jennylyn knew that staging a Valentine concert is quite a challenge since veteran singers also hold their own concerts on that month.

So sa February 15 kami.

"Aminin natin, andaming concert ng February 14. Ginawa naming 15 para mahiwalay kami sa Valentine's Day.

"Hindi naman lahat pare-pareho ng genre, e. Para lang maiba. 'Hi, guys! Baka gusto niyo ng iba.' Hahaha!"

CoLove Live's special guests include Alden Richards, Carlo Aquino, Janno Gibbs, Nyoy Volante, JK Labajo, Kim Molina, Jerald Napoles, Jay Durias, Nar Cabico, Nico Antonio, and Juan Miguel Severo.
