Sarah Geronimo marks a huge milestone in her recording career. Her song “Tala” clinched the 12th spot in the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart this January.
The Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart is known for ranking best-selling international songs based on sales data compiled by Nielsen Music.
“Tala" ranked higher than "Boy, Girl" (No. 14) of Loona, a 12- member Korean girl group.
The Filipino song also beat "Horizon" (No. 16) of 8-member K-pop boy group ATEEZ and "My Love" (No. 20) of K-pop singer Baekhyun.
Tala's official music video, which was uploaded on YouTube on June 11, 2016, now has over 52 million views and counting.
Debuting four years ago, "Tala" became popular again in 2019 when the singer’s legion of fans from the LGBT community kept the fire burning brightly with various covers.

This danceable tune, penned by Nica del Rosario and Emmanuel Sambayan, reached its tipping point with a “Tala Nation” segment during the January 5 episode of ASAP Natin ‘To.
The Popstar Princess did an updated version of the song, with hundreds of dancers performing "Tala" in different parts of the country such as Iligan, Baguio City, Iloilo, Cebu, Davao, and Butuan.
During the activity, a very appreciative Sarah told the audience: “Salamat sa lahat ng sumama at sumayaw ng 'Tala.'”
