27th Awit Awards winners unveiled; Gloc-9, Regine Velasquez, KZ Tandingan & Daniel Padilla honored

Some winners of the 27th Awit Awards are (L-R) KZ Tandingan, Gloc-9 and Daniel Padilla.

Gloc-9 was again the big winner in the 27th Awit Awards held at Resorts World Manila last December 12.

Just like last year, Gloc-9 took home awards for Song of the Year and Album of the Year for "Magda" and Liham at Lihim, respectively.

This year, he also shared the awards for Best Collaboration and Best Rap Recording with Rico Blanco for their song "Magda."

Gloc-9's song with Joey Ayala titled "Papel" also earned the Best Novelty Recording award.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid earned two awards this year as did KZ Tandingan.

Asia's Songbird was recognized for her song "Nathaniel" that won the Best Inspirational/Religious Recording award and her song "Hele Ni Inay" that bagged the Best Christmas Recording award.

KZ Tandingan, on the other hand, won the Best Ballad Recording award for "Scared to Death" and the Best Jazz Recording award for "Darating Din."

Sarah Geronimo won the Best R&B Recording award for her single "Ikot-Ikot."

This year's awards for Best Performances went to Paolo Onesa for "Lucky In Love" and Zia Quizon for "Pasakalye."

Abra's Ilusyon music video with Arci Munoz was hailed as the Music Video of the Year.

For the second year in a row, Daniel Padilla bagged the award for Best Selling Album for his record DJP.

The Awit Awards is organized by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI).
