ABS-CBN teen star AC Bonifacio is now a certified recording artist.

On Thursday, November 4, 2021, AC was officially welcomed to the Star Magic Records family and became the first Kapamilya artist to release a single under the new music label inside the ABS-CBN Music ecosystem.

Lauren Dyogi, Star Magic head, detailed the premise behind it at a virtual media conference, adding that it is Star Magic's means of spreading the brand of the network's talent management arm.

Explaining AC's selection as the first artist under the Star Magic Record label, he said, "It’s a fact that AC is very talented, she’s known as a world-class dancer."

"Globally, she’s exposed herself—sa Ellen DeGeneres, Riverdale—ang dami na niyang exposure that attested sa galing niyang sumayaw.

"But more than that, mayroon pa siyang ibang aspeto na puwede talaga nating makita, so this time she will not only dance, she will be a total performer."

Direk Lauren added that Bonifacio would be an excellent representative for Star Magic Records because of her age, charisma, and work ethic.

Is the Dance Kids champ up for the challenge?

AC said, "There’s a lot of pressure on my shoulder being the first artist under Star Magic, but I will do my best and I will work as hard as I can to show them what I can do."

On Friday, November 6, 2021, AC officially released her debut single "Fool No Mo."

Her single is an anthem of women empowerment and self-expression.

The 18-year-old Kapamilya talent also revealed that it was also her first time to write her own song.

As for the story behind lyrics, the dancer-turned-pop star said it would serve as a reminder of self-worth and how others should regard everyone.

She said, "All of us have gone through a phase in our life na naging fool tayo for someone, kahit hindi siya seryoso, it happended and it became a lesson that we learn to know our worth, to know what we want."

The world is getting bigger with the presence of social media and the virtual world, so everyone needs to adjust.

And both Star Magic and Star Magic Records have been doing exactly that.

According to Roxy Liquigan, head of the ABS-CBN Music ecosystem, Direk Lauren’s dream is to discover and develop artists for the global stage, and Star Magic is the perfect platform to fully realize that dream.

He said, "Mas marami tayo, mas maganda. We are not just sticking to one label.

"Mas marami, mas may focus tayo because Star Music is about mainstream music, Star Pop is pop music, Tarsier is for global music, dance, EDM.

"DNA is for alternative music. Feeling namin, mas marami pang magagawa with mas maraming record labels under the ABS-CBN Music ecosystem.”

Adding Star Magic Records as one of the labels under ABS-CBN Music is just a method of expanding OPM to the world and providing opportunities for ABS-CBN artists to pursue recording careers.

Said Direk Lauren, "Through the enhancement of Star Magic, ABS-CBN music and all the other platforms and units, artists are able to discover a lot of their talents. You are not only an artista, but you can sing, you can perform, you can do a lot more,”

Star Magic will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2022, and many new things will start to emerge, beginning Friday, November 5, 2021, with AC Bonifacio.
