K-pop superstar BLACKPINK is set to hold an in-game The Virtual concert in the hit battle royale game Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile.

This comes ahead of the group's much-awaited comeback in August 2022.

PUBG is a mobile battle royale game developed by Lightspeed and Quantum Studio. It is the most popular player-versus-player shooting game in which the player survives and fights until their team is the only one left on the battlefield.

The group officially announced this on its Instagram account, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, when they uploaded the pink and black poster stating their collaboration with PUBG.

"BLACKPINK X PUBG MOBILE 2022 IN-GAME CONCERT : [THE VIRTUAL] Coming soon!North & South America : 22nd-23rd and 29th-30th July. Rest of the World : 23rd-24th and 30th-31st July," they wrote in the caption.

The concert titled The Virtual will be happening across two weekends this month from July 22 to 23 and July 29 to 30 in North and South America.

Meanwhile, for all other countries, it will run from July 23 to 24 and July 30 to 31.

"In addition to the members' three-dimensional avatars, the three-dimensional sounds and performances will come to life through the high-quality technology of the game production company PUBGM," a YG Entertainment representative said, based on a translation by Korean media outlet Soompi.

This show makes BLACKPINK the first-ever K-pop act to hold an in-game concert.

This will be the group's second time collaborating with PUBG after their previous collaboration with the battle royale game in 2021.
