Andy Clutterback and James Hatcher of Honne finally conquered Araneta Coliseum on their fifth visit in Manila.

The English synthpop duo filled the venue's 16,500 seats on Wednesday night, May 10, 2023.

Overwhelmed by the support from their Filipino fans, Andy said, "I just want to say I am someone who suffers with impostor's syndrome.

"I don't know if you know this. You kinda believe you're not worthy and you should have achieved all these things.

"Tonight for the first time I feel like we are a proper band!"

James interjected, "I one hundred percent agree!"

Smiling, Andy continued, "So thank you so much for giving me some confidence back!

"This is our last song. Manila, Philippines we'll be back again!"

a FULLY ENGAGED CROWD

Pinoy fans showed how much they've missed Honne as they kept singing along the band's popular songs "Me and You," "Location Unknown," "Good Together," and "Crying Over You."

Some of the audience even got up to enjoy the vibe of Honne's danceable tracks.

Midway through the concert, Andi reacted to the massive and energetic crowd at the Big Dome, "Wow, Manila! I'm gonna go and say I think this is my favorite gig we've ever played. Mahal namin kayo!"

Honne treated the audience with their newer songs, released during the pandemic, including "IDGAF," "Free Love," "Heartsong," "Coming Home," and "La la la that's how it goes."

The crowd lit up their phones in an instant when Honne began crooning the sweet and sentimental lyrics of "Heartsong," which go, "Only you can bring me back / 'Til I'm all of me / You make my heart sing / You make me everything."

TRIVIA FROM JAMES hatcher

Prelude to the duo's performance of "Heartsong," James bantered with the audience, telling them about doing a prank the English call "Knock Down A Ginger" and ending up at a hospital for a nicked finger.

"It's when you knock on a door or ring a doorbell and then run away," he explained.

It happened when James visited the neighborhood of his university in Guildford, England.

He related, "Do you do that? Maybe when you're nine years old, not 25 years old.

"I wanted to make a bit of extra noise so I used the letter box. It was very sharp. And I ran off, looked down, and I was missing that whole part of my finger.

"I went back and it was still stuck in the letterbox. So I picked it up, put it back on, went to hospital, and they sawed it back on."

ANDY clutterback'S DEDICATION TO HIS WIFE

Another highlight was when the duo sat on the stage and Andy spoke about his wife of 15 years who happened to be the inspiration behind the song "By My Side."

He said, "We met in high school, and yeah, we fell in love, we got married, and we had a baby.

"And she's always there for me every time. She's got my back, when I'm sad, when I'm anxious. I love her.

"She's at home in London. To my wife, this one's for you."

"DAY 1" FOR HONNE'S ENCORE

Honne performed their first-ever song "Warm On A Cold Night" during the latter part of their Manila concert.

Fans of the duo surely remembered it from when Honne first came to Manila as part of Wanderland music fest in 2017.

After the number, Andy and James exited the stage, leaving the crowd wanting for more.

Pinoy fans chanted, "Day 1! Day 1 Day 1" as if to say they're not leaving the venue without hearing the band's anthemic song.

True enough, Andy and James came back to sing not just "Day 1" but also another latest favorite, "No Song Without You."

As the duo exited the stage, an AVP showing an inspirational message about living the present moment was projected on stage, Honne's thank-you note to their Pinoy fans.

Produced by Ovation Productions, Inc., Honne is performing at the University of Southeastern Philippines Davao this Friday, May 12. Their last performance in the country will be held at Waterfront Hotel in Cebu on May 14.
