From 1974 to 1981, viewers were entertained by a show that featured Latin dances and modern dance moves. Aired during Sunday evenings, Penthouse 7 was a hit for popularizing dance steps such as the Robot, the Bump, the Jacksons, the LA Walk, the New York Hustle, Pop-Locking, and Locking. The performers even taught the viewers how to do these steps during the instructional portion.
Twenty-seven years after their show last aired on GMA-7, the Penthouse 7 gang is back with a one-night only show titled Penthouse 7 (That 70's Dance Show) Grand Reunion.
Mark your calendars on April 30 for the dance party that will take place at the NBC Tent, Fort Bonifacio Global City at 8 p.m.
The members of Penthouse 7 recall that the idea of having a reunion show started when they saw the opening number of an old episode in YouTube. After conferring with each other through email, phone calls and numerous text messages, they decided to push through.
Former TV host Archie Lacson and the Penthouse 7 gang will show off their dancing skills that have remained in shape all these years. Join the dance party led by Marlyn Feliciano, RayAn Fuentes, Rosie Garchitorena-Gan, Anna Garcia, Tito Garcia, Sandy Hontiveros, Pipo Liboro, Mike Monserrat, Nini Morato, Susan Payawal, Poncy Quirino, Ronnie Henares and wife Ida Ramos, as well as Gina Valenciano-Martinez.
Even though most of them decided to pursue careers in different fields, some of them are still active in the entertainment scene. Ida Ramos-Henares heads the GMA Artist Center while her husband Ronnie Henares is a talent manager (he used to handle Regine Velasquez) who directs concerts as well. Poncy Quirino produces and performs in dance instructional videos reminiscent of Penthouse 7-style dancing. Gina Valenciano-Martinez has been a Manila Genesis executive vice president for 23 years.
Don't miss this one-night engagement that promises to bring back the golden era of dance. For ticket inquiries, please call Ticketworld at 891-9999 or the Manila Genesis office at 721-4405 / 722-7281.
