Lyca Gairanod happy for achievements of Darren Espanto; explains why she plans to hold her own concert two years from now

Lyca Gairanod’s debut album Puede Nang Mangarap gives a glimpse of her journey towards reaching her dreams. The winner of The Voice Kids PH said that she's not yet ready to stage a big concert.

After winning the first season of The Voice Kids PH last year, Lyca Gairanod has already released her debut album Puede Nang Mangarap.

During the press launch of her album yesterday, July 13, the 10-year-old singer told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the media that she is happy and thankful to finally have her own an album, a year after she won ABS-CBN's competition.

Her Puede Nang Mangarap album is composed of 7 tracks that are very inspiring – especially for those who want to achieve their dreams.

The carrier single "Puede Nang Mangarap" describes Lyca’s journey – from being a scavenger to now one of country’s most promising child singers. It was composed by one of the country’s top composers Jungee Marcelo.

However, she considers “Sa Isang Awit” as the song that is closest to her heart.

Another interesting track from her album is the song “Tayo Ay Maglaro,” composed by the inspirational diva Jamie Rivera. It is about bringing back traditional Filipino games such as Tumbang Preso and Patintero.

According to Lyca, she also likes playing games.

She also added that playing gadgets is not much of her hobby, just as what the song suggests, “Kasi po yung gadget, minsan po nakakapuyat na po yun ng bata.

Aside from six original compositions, she also did a version of “Iingatan Ka,” which was popularized by Carol Banawa. She dedicated this song to her mother who never left her as she pursued her dreams.

COMPARISON TO DARREN. Even though Lyca won The Voice Kids, runnerup Darren Espanto released his debut album even before the grand winner.

Lyca clarified that she and the other The Voice Kids finalists are happy for each other now that they have released their own albums.

The two other contestants who were part of the final four are Juan Karlos Labajo, who is currently enjoying his stint in Pangako Sa’Yo, and Darlene Vibares.

Darren has also headlined his own concert at the MOA Arena last April.

Is Lyca ready to topbill her own concert in a large venue already?

She said that she’ll be ready to stage a big concert when she reaches 12 years old, which is two years from now.

She reasoned out that she is still too young to take on such a big project.

LIFE CHANGES. Through this album, Lyca wants to inspire others through her inspirational songs.

She also said that she never forgets to thank God for all the blessings that she has received.

“And si Papa God din po, siya po ang nagbigay sa 'kin ng blessings and talent.”

She is also proud to say how her life has changed right now.

Lyca has already bought a van, which is a big improvement since she used to ride a sidecar when she was still a scavenger.

But despite the big changes in her life, Lyca makes it a point to remember the people who helped her achieve her current success.

“Opo. Di ko naman po sila kinakalimutan kasi po sila po yung tumulong sa 'kin noon,” referring to her neighbors in her old house.

ADVICE TO THE VOICE KIDS FINALISTS. Lyca also shared that her coach Sarah Geronimo is happy that she is finally releasing her debut album.

The second season of The Voice Kids recently started airing. What advice can she give to the finalists?
