Lani Misalucha's Love Catcher shows music at its finest

Lani Misalucha's Love Catcher also paid tribute to two of her favorite singers: Natalie Cole and Whitney Houston.

Love Catcher
was a mélange of stories—of the brokenhearted, of kinikilig, of naghahanap, and of true love—told so beautifully in 25 songs by Asia's Nightingale.

Time and again, Lani Misalucha has shown that the major key to a successful concert is vocal prowess.

In this concert, she soared in all the high notes.

The most unforgettable numbers in her repertoire were "Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin" and "Broken Vow."

She sang in different languages.

From her OPM hit "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin" to the French classic "La Vie En Rose" to "My Heart Will Go On" Italian version "Il Mio Cuore Va" to two of Natalie Cole's timeless pieces "Someone that I Used to Love" and "Starting Over Again," Lani was almost, almost flawless.

She pulled off various genres effortlessly.

Only a seasoned and versatile performer could make that seamless transition from pop  ("Hello") to opera  ("O Mio Babbino Caro") to Broadway ("As If We Never Said Goodbye") to Disney ("Circle of Life") to ballad ("Endless Love") to R&B ("Just Once").

She was impressive in duet and group numbers as she was magnificent in her solo. Her a cappella enthralled.

A few audience members got lucky when they were handpicked to sing Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" and "How Will I Know?" with her. That was fun.

The crowd broke into loud cheers when Lani performed Frozen's "Let It Go" with Baihana, an all-girl musical group featuring Krina Cayabyab, Anna Achacoso-Graham, and Mel Torre.

Lani showed her mettle in her Valentine concert, Love Catcher was music at its finest.
