Disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder to hold Manila gig on February 27

Electronic music trailblazer Giorgio Moroder is set to return to Manila's club scene on February 27, 2016.

This time, Moroder will stir up the crowd with his one-night gig Iconic Dreams at Privé Luxury Club, featuring DJ Boyet Almazan.

Moroder, known for his contributions to the disco genre in the 1970s, has three Grammy awards under his belt—two for his work on the Flashdance soundtrack, one Best Song award for his dance recording of the song “Carry On,” and another for his collaboration with Daft Punk for their album, Random Access Memory.

His songs “Flashdance...What a Feeling” for Flashdance and “Take My Breath Away” for Top Gun won him Academy Awards for Best Song, while his work on the movie Midnight Express also bagged him the award for Best Musical Score in 1978.

The World Soundtrack Academy also recognized his works on films as he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

The 75-year-old spinner also released his album Déjà Vu, which features collaborations with Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Sia, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko, Foxes and Matthew Koma, among others only last year.

The EDM master will deliver on February 27 at Privé Luxury Club in Bonifacio Global City. The one-night only affair will also feature DJ Boyet Almazan.

Tickets are available at Privé Luxury Club. Tickets and tables can be reserved at +639178061214. Doors will open at 9:00 PM.
