Tom Jones cancels Manila concert for the second time



British music icon Tom Jones canceled his Manila concert just hours before his supposed performance in the Philippines.

The 75-year-old singer was supposed to perform at the Smart Araneta Coliseum earlier tonight, April 2.

His management explained in an official statement, “Due to serious illness in his immediate family, Tom Jones has regretfully had to cancel his performance in Manila this evening. He extends his deepest apologies to both the organizers and the fans, who he is most sad to disappoint.”

At approximately 6:30 in the evening, the staff of Smart Araneta Center were informed about the cancellation and immediately announced this to his waiting fans.

The legendary singer is behind the hits "It's Not Unusual," "Delilah," "Love is in the Air," and "Sexbomb."

Fans were seen taking photos of Tom Jones' posters at the venue. The Voice UK coach arrived in Manila on Friday afternoon and even spoke to members of the media regarding his Saturday concert.

Concert producers from Ovation Productions explained how fans can refund their tickets:

For tickets purchased at Ticketnet Outlet and Box Office, refund will be available starting April 5 - May 5 at the Ticketnet Office located at the Yellow Gate of Araneta Coliseum. Ticketnet Office is open daily from 10am-8pm. Please surrender your tickets upon claiming refund."For tickets purchased online at www.ticketnet.com.ph, refund will automatically be reverted back to your credit card. No need to go to the Ticketnet Office."

Tom Jones' March 2010 concert in Manila was also cancelled when he was diagnosed with acute laryngitis and ordered complete vocal rest.
