We have already listed down reasons why you should watch the film but there's one scene you definitely wouldn't want to miss: a "Dubsmash" scene.
Dubsmash played a big role for the AlDub love team and it's just fitting to include this in their first solo movie. It will be recalled that Alden and Yaya Dub (played by Maine) initially communicated with each other through fan signs and Dubsmashing in the Kalyeserye segment of Eat Bulaga.
MOVIE REVIEW: Maine Mendoza, still a natural in Imagine You and Me
In no particular order, we've listed down the songs in Imagine You and Me that you might be interested to add to your own playlist.
Check out the songs below:
1. Sabay by Never The Strangers
This emotional track, an original by OPM band Never The Strangers, is included in their sophomore album Screenburn released in 2015.
2. Magkaibang Mundo by Jireh Lim
Jireh Lim's chart-topping hit "Magkaibang Mundo" heightened moviegoers' kilig feels when it was played in one of Alden and Maine's scene in the movie. The song was originally released in 2013 as a single but is also part of Jireh's full-length album Love And Soul released in 2015.
3. Kay Tagal by Mark Carpio
The song is part of Mark's first extended play (EP) album Hiling. Prior to this film, the song was already used as the official soundtrack of the Korean drama series released by GMA-7 titled You're The Best starring K-pop singer IU and actor Jo Jung Suk.
4. You Or Nothing by Hale
The familiar voice of Champ Lui Pio (accompanied by his band Hale) was also featured in the film. The song is included on their comeback extended play (EP) album titled Time & Space which was released early 2015. This is the third single from their latest album following "Sinner or Saint" and "See You."
5. Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin by April Boy Regino
April Boy Regino's LSS-inducing "Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin" makes a comeback in one of the lighthearted scenes of Alden and Maine. This karaoke-favorite took the OPM scene by storm in 1994. The song was also part of 2012 best hits album titled Jukebox Idol. Last July 9, the OPM idol performed the hit with actress Carmi Martin for GMA-7's Lip Sync Battle Philippines hosted by Michael V and Iya Villania.
6. "Oh Celia" or "Hashtag Feelingera" by Jerald Napoles, Wally Bayola, and Jose Manalo
This songs isn't really part of Andrew's playlist but it will be heard in one of the scenes of the movie. We're not sure about the song's title but this was originally performed by Jerald Napoles, Wally Bayola, and Jose Manalo for the "Fashionista" segment of Sunday PinaSaya in August 16, 2015. A few listens to the song and the chorus will definitely get stuck in your head.
7. Imagine You and Me by Maine Mendoza
We wouldn't dare forget to include the movie's title soundtrack "Imagine You And Me." Like "Oh Celia," the song wasn't part of Andrew's playlist but will be heard several times in the movie. The lyrics of the song was written by Maine herself. Vic Sotto provided the music while Jimmy Antiporda provided the musical arrangement.
