The Tenors of Rock, composed of five of the best male rock voices in
the UK--Gareth "Gaz" Richards, David Richards, Jonathan Williams, Jimmy Denning, and Tommy Sherlock--will showcase the biggest rock hits from the '70s to the present for their Filipino fans.

Hear their powerful vocal harmonies at the Resort World’s Newport Performing Arts Theater on August 13.

The five men use their innovative sound to put their own twist on classic rock songs such as "Sweet Child O’ Mine" and "God Gave Rock N’ Roll To You." Their diversity in their performance set list may include covers from rock acts such as Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi, Guns n’ Roses, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Kiss, Muse and many more.

The group earned biggest break when they were able to capture a finals seat in primetime television talent show The X-Factor UK in 2013. From then on, Tenors of Rock started performing in some of Las Vegas’s poshest places such as Palms, Westgate Las Vegas Resorts and Casino and Planet Hollywood.

Adding intensity to the Manila leg will be The Goldenboyz, made up of RJ Durell and Nick Florez. Both men are the most in-demand directors and choreographers in the world having worked with huge stars such as Madonna, Katy Perry, Michael Jackson and Celine Dion as well as grand performances such as Cirque de Soleil and the musical Rock of Ages in Los Angeles.

Expect a combination of the high-powered, stimulating vocals of Tenors of Rock and the enchanting production values from the Goldenboyz.

Here are excerpts from our press interview with the Tenors of Rock:

What do you think of the Philippines so far?

David Richards: Absolutely amazing, I love it. It’s a little humid, but I still love it. It’s a beautiful country.

Are you looking forward to anything here in the Philippines?

David: Massages.

Are you willing to collaborate with a Filipino artist and do a song together?

David: For sure. We would love to collaborate with anybody. I think that music is a very inclusive thing. So wherever work of music they come from.. We even sang with Mig Ayesa, the great Mig Ayesa! He’s half-Filipino anyway. We got to sang many times with Mig, so we’d be quite happy to any Filipino artist out there that wants to make a record or want to collabrate.

Do you know any Filipino artists?

Gareth Richards: Mig Ayesa. *laughs* and Lea Salonga, Arnel Pineda.

How about Tanya Manalang?

Gareth: We just met her today, she’s so gorgeous.

What’s the inspiration behind your music?

David: We just wanted to create a new sound and put a brand new vocal harmony sound on classic rock songs. To give it a new face.

Do you have a mantra or ritual before you perform?

David: Yes. Handshakes.

I try to make sure I’m not rubbish when I sing. That’s my mantra.

Where are you going next after the Philippines?

David: Next, we go to the U.K., and then we’re going to Europe, in Spain, Portugal and Italy. And then back to Manila. Can’t wait to be here and look around to try the food. We’ll go swimming here, can’t wait all the time to experience Manila. Beautiful.
