South Korea's fast-rising singer/composer DEAN recently concluded his show in Manila last Saturday, August 6, at the SM North EDSA Skydome.
He visited the country to promote his debut extended play (EP) album 130 Mood: TRBL under MCA Music (Universal Records Philippines).
The K-pop singer definitely looked overwhelmed upon seeing over two thousand fans at his meet-and-greet session where he performed his songs including "I'm Not Sorry," "Put My Hands On You," "Bonnie and Clyde," and "D (halfmoon)," among many others.
At a press conference a day before the show, DEAN expressed his excitement to perform for his Filipino fans for the first time.
He said, "I am proud to perform the songs from my 130 Mood: TRBL album and I will be performing the singles I've written in America. I'm very excited for my performance to Filipino fans."

1. Unlike most K-pop stars, Dean debuted in the music scene in the United States.
His first two singles—"I'm Not Sorry" featuring Grammy award winner Eric Bellinger and "Put My Hands On You" featuring Anderson Paak—are both in English.
2. His real name is Kwon Hyuk.
3. His screen name DEAN is inspired by James Dean.
The K-pop artist explained, "I am a very big fan of James Dean, the actor and I'm also looking forward to becoming an actor. I am inspired from the simple style and mood of James Dean." The South Korean artist pointed out that his music is also influence by the style of the actor who was popular during the 1950s.
He added, "I'd like to perform with the similar mood and style of James Dean."
4. He enjoyed his collaboration with Anderson Paak the most.
DEAN explained, "Aside from being a rising artist, I enjoyed collaborating with him because I felt the harmony."
5. The craziest thing a fan did to him? A fan followed him from Seoul, South Korea to Taipei in Taiwan!
Talk about fan dedication! DEAN recalled a fan who followed him overseas to show her support for the South Korean R&B singer. DEAN told PEP, "There is a fan from Taipei and she was there back when I had a concert in Seoul, Korea. I also met her at the airport and the concert in Taipei. She goes everywhere I was."
6. Would he date a fan?
DEAN answered, "As a fan of other artists, I understand the essence of being a fan. I think that being into a [romantic] relationship is not a thing but keeping the distance between a fan and the artist is the most beautiful thing."
7. He is also a fan of Pokemon.
DEAN was asked which Pokemon he would like to be, and he answered everyone's favorite: Pikachu. He explained, "Pikachu is the only pokemon that's not contained in a Pokeball so I'd to become a Pikachu."
8. He considers American hip-hop artist Kanye West as one of his musical influences.
This is probably why he wants his uniqueness as a musician to be his legacy. DEAN admitted, "I really want to be remembered as unique, personal musician. Unlike other artists who want to win awards, I think the most important thing is to be remembered as a unique artist."
