Ai-Ai Delas Alas on her concert showdown with Lani Misalucha: "Hindi porke't na komedyante ako, kunwari may duet kami, alangan namang balahurain ko yung duet namin. Siyempre rerespetuhin mo yung pagkanta niya.

One thing that Ai-Ai delas Alas remembers about Lani Misalucha is the fact that the latter sang “Ikaw” at the comedienne’s Las Vegas wedding with Jed Salang.

At the presscon for their upcoming concert Ai Meets Lani: Lani May Ai?, there was no trace of bitterness in Ai-Ai when she recalled her short-lived marriage with Jed.

“2013 ako kinasal. Sandali lang, 29 days lang yung kasal ko. Wow, Britney Spears!” exclaimed Ai-Ai, who compared her experience to that of American pop singer Britney Spears. Britney’s Las Vegas wedding to her childhood friend Jason Alexanders only lasted for 55 hours.

Ai-Ai said that she would love to have Lani as her wedding singer again.

But since she has no plans of getting married anytime soon, Ai-Ai said that sharing the stage with Asia’s Nightingale would be another memorable experience for her.

The duo are slated to headline a back-to-back concert at the Kia Theater on September 17.

Ai-Ai happily related, “First opening number pa lang namin kabog na talaga! 12 minutes yung opening number namin.

Ai-Ai—whose current vital statistics are 37-26-37—explained that she really wants to be physically fit for the concert.

Without giving too much details, Ai-Ai shared that she’s excited to perform her opening number that is inspired by her idol J.Lo.

Throughout her solo presscon at Jet 7 Bistro last August 10, Ai-Ai kept on saying that she would let Lani do the singing while she performs funny antics.

But Ai-Ai later confessed that she’s also prepping for her singing showdown with the Asia’s Nightingale.

“Siyempre rerespetuhin mo yung pagkanta niya.

Lani is currently in the U.S., and is scheduled to fly back to Manila in September in time for the concert.

In the meantime, Lani joined the presscon via Skype and even entertained a few questions from entertainment reporters.

“Nung first time naming magkasama sa isang concert, dito yun sa Amerika. Yun ang very first na nagkatrabaho kami sa isang show.

Lani added that she’s also gearing up for her and Ai-Ai’s long production numbers.
