Sometime in 2004, ABS-CBN's variety show ASAP gathered together winners and runners-up from different singing competitions and gave them a segment called "Champions Showdown."
These champions included singing competition winners: Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo (Star For A Night 2003), Prince of Pop Erik Santos (Star in a Million 2003), Rachelle Ann Go (Search for a Star 2004), Frenchie Dy (Star in a Million 2004), Jed Madela (2005 World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA), Kris Lawrence (Search for the Star In A Million season 2, 2005), and Yeng Constantino (Pinoy Dream Academy season 1, 2006)...
Singing search runners-up Mark Bautista (Star For A Night, 2003), Sheryn Regis (Star in a Million, 2003), Christian Bautista (Star in a Million, 2003), Raymond Manalo (Search for a Star, 2004), Nikki Bacolod (Search for the Star in a Million season 1, 2005), and Jimmy Marquez (Search for the Star in a Million season 2, 2005).
Later on, the segment was renamed "ASAP Champions" until it was discontinued sometime in 2006.
The singers engaged in different musical production numbers in the show, some of which were "Music Box" and "Grand Face-Off."
Years later, Sarah, Yeng, and Rachelle Ann formed a singing trio featured on the segment called "YRS." This segment ran from 2008 to 2010, until Rachelle Ann transferred to GMA.
Even though their segment is no longer part of ASAP and some of them are no longer active in showbiz anymore, they remained to be friends, which is evident in their post-Christmas celebration last night, January 3 at Rachelle Ann's new house.
Some of them posted photos of their reunion on their respective Instagram accounts.
Since Frenchie, Sheryn, and Christian did not make it in the reunion, Mark played around with their group photo and inserted their sensual photos!
Currently, only Sarah, Erik, Jed, and Yeng remained in ASAP.
Rachelle Ann, Mark, Kris, and Christian transferred to GMA-7 and performed in various variety programs. Later on, Rachelle Ann made waves in Broadway.
Sheryn currently resides in the United States but returned in the Philippines last year and even guested in ASAP.
Frenchie last appeared in ABS-CBN's teleserye Dolce Amore starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil while Jimmy is still part of VIVA Artists Agency and appeared in some of its movies.
Meanwhile, Nikki also made a name for herself in Malaysia when she did a duet with Malaysian singer Min Yasmin. Raymond, on the other hand, has left the limelight.
