Regine Velasquez, Christian Bautista, and Julie Anne San Jose performed for their Pinoy kababayans through the third leg of their 3 Stars 1 Heart concert series in Dubai.
GMA's powerhouse trio treated Pinoys in Dubai to their favorite OPM songs at the Dubai World Trade Center.
“Iba yung warmth, not just the weather, but also the people there,” says Christian, who has performed before Filipinos in the Middle East for several times already.
Regine, on the other hand, observed that Pinoys are generally warmer when they watch concerts of their Filipino artists abroad.
“Basically, when you perform outside the country for the Filipinos, generally, the audience is warmer talaga.
“That's why we really do our best to put in more OPM songs because that's what they want to hear.
“They don't want to hear songs of other artists, especially kapag sa States, ha.
“Talagang they would want you to sing OPM songs, and they love it because they know that you make an effort also to make it more OPM.
“Not that the audience here are not warm.
“But generally lang, meron lang sabik factor because a lot of them haven't gone home in a while.”
But apart from their performances, there's other one thing that Pinoys abroad look forward to when attending concerts, Regine said, “Alam mo, ang gusto pa nila, tsismis.
“Di nga, alam mo, kaya kapag nagko-concert kami out of the country, nagbabasa-basa kami ng mga bagong tsismis kasi tuwang-tuwa kaya sila do'n. Kapag sa spiel tuwang-tuwa sila do'n.”
For their show in Dubai, there was a special segment called “Regine By Request,” where Asia's Songbird granted seven lucky winners' song requests and serenaded them on stage with Christian and Julie Anne.
Adding glitz to the concert were the gowns and suits created by three renowned Filipino designers based in Dubai—Furne One of Amator Couture, Ryan Pacioles of Atalier Zuhra, and Ezra Santos of Ezra Couture.
3 Stars 1 Heart is produced by GMA Pinoy TV together with partner carrier OSN.
During the finale of 3 Stars 1 Heart in Dubai, Christian, Julie Anne, and Regine brought the house down with a medley of Eraserheads hits including "Ang Huling El Bimbo," "Overdrive," "Ligaya," and "Magasin."
