Filipino-American singer H.E.R. wins two Grammys

Ang R&B singer-songwriter na may dugong Pinoy na si H.E.R. ay naparangalan sa 61st Grammy Awards.

Napanalunan ng Fil-American artist na si H.E.R. ang dalawang Grammys: Best R&B Performance ("Best Part") at Best R&B Album sa 2019 Grammy Awards.

Ang Korean boy group BTS ang nag-present ng award niya sa ceremony na ginanap sa Staples Center sa Los Angeles, California.

Nagkaroon si H.E.R., na ang tunay na pangalan ay Gabriella "Gabi" Wilson, ng limang Grammy nominations.

Na-nominate rin si H.E.R. para sa categories na ito: Best New Artist, Best R&B Song ("Focus") at Album of the Year kunsaan nakalaban niya sina Cardi B. (Invasion of Privacy); Drake (Scorpion); Brandi Carlile (By The Way, I Forgive You); Post Malone (Beerbongs & Bentley); Janelle Monae (Dirty Computer), at Black Panther: The Album.

Lumaki si H.E.R. sa San Francisco Bay Area to a Filipino mother and African-American father.

Unang lumabas bilang child prodigy si H.E.R. sa Today Show dahil sa pag-awit nito ng mga songs Alicia Keys. At age 12 ay nakipag-compete si H.E.R. sa Radio Disney's The Next BIG Thing.

Noong kinontrata siya sa ilalim ng RCA, naglabas si H.E.R. ng single na "Something To Prove" pero gamit ang real name niya na Gabi Wilson.

Taong 2016 nang ilabas ang debut album niya na H.E.R. Vol. 1 at nasundan ito ng H.E.R. Vol. 2 at H.E.R Vol 2: The B Sides noong 2017.

Na-release ang kanyang dalawang EPs na I Used to Know Her: The Prelude at I Used to Know Her: Part 2 noong 2018.

Ang kanyang unang EP ay nag-No. 1 sa Billboard U.S. R&B chart at umabot sa No. 20 spot sa Billboard U.S. 200 chart.

Sa kanyang Instagram account, nag-post si H.E.R. ng pictures niya sa Grammys 2019 at sinulat sa caption:

"HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!! NO WORDS!!!!!!! the moment i shared with my family when they made the announcement, was so special. Thank you to everyone who has been there since day one! And all my amazing fans that continue to come to my shows and put people on to my music. Mom, dad, Lil sis, i do this for you!!!!!!
