Soon, Filipinos will soon be able to watch a music video heralding the 150th anniversary of Red Cross International.
Prince of Pop Erik Santos, Rock Princess Yeng Constantino and Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga lent their voices to sing the theme song of Red Cross titled "Bagong Umaga."
This music video is just one of the big projects lined up by Red Cross in partnership with Star Records. The upbeat theme song of Red Cross is included in the album titled I Move, I Give, I Love, an inspirational album that will be released very soon.
"Choosing the artists who will be part of this project was a tedious task," said Ms. Gwen Pang, secretary general of the Philippine National Red Cross. "We really have to consider artists with great sense of compassion."
The three artists who were chosen to share their voices for the said song felt really privileged. In fact, during the music video shoot, they revealed that they waived their talent fees for this cause.
"Syempre naman, Red Cross yan. Di porke't takot ako sa karayum di na ako makakatulong. Di lang naman pag-donate ng dugo ang Red Cross," said Yeng.
"By being part of this project, isa na rin itong way ng pagtulong," Erik pointed out.
For her part, Toni revealed that she used to help the said advocacy group. "Naging volunteer rin ako ng Red Cross, kaya naman nung nalaman ko na napili ako for this, go ako agad."
Red Cross will have a big celebration on June 24, 2009 in the SM Mall of Asia grounds to set the largest human formation of the Red Cross in the Guinness Book of Records. Expect a whole lot of jamming with artists involved with this project for a cause.
