Critically acclaimed songwriter, producer and musician/performer Ebe Dancel of the band Pinoy power pop band Sugarfree—who has transcended decades with a consistent score of hit singles—has formally inked a 360 recording, publishing and management deal with international record label Warner Music Philippines.
Gearing up to be a solo singer this time around, Dancel is scheduled to start working in the studio this October 2010. Though this is definitely the first time Dancel will be in charge of everything, unknown to many, this is not the first time Dancel and Warner Music's paths have crossed—as he has recently done work with soul act Sinosikat, and has done arranging and production duties for recent all-female rock outfit General Luna.
Dancel's lyrical prowess and knack for universally appealing melodies have earned him the respect and recognition from his local peers and audiences.
The Ilagan, Isabela-native Dancel is set to join a roster of Warner Music artists that boasts of such big-name local and international acts such as Josh Groban, Madonna, Paramore, Jason Mraz, Charice and Rico Blanco, among others.
