Protégé's Top 15 aspirants will showcase acting skills with Maricel Soriano in 5 short films

PRESS STATEMENT FROM GMA-7:

"Protégé's first elimination night turned out to be the most emotional episode so far as the five celebrity mentors were given the task to choose whom to save between their respective protégés.

"The elimination night was full of suspense as the bottom 2 protégés of each mentor from the same region battled it out on stage to vie for the 5 remaining slots for the Top 15. And the biggest highlight of the night was the time when the mentors announced their decisions on whom to save and whom to let go.

"The five protégés who got the boot are Apple Vega from Dipolog, Mitch Capili from Bohol, Mykel Ong from Batangas, Glenn Roy from Tarlac and Kelly D from Pasig.

"Meanwhile, the five protégés who survived the elimination and were saved by their respective mentors are Ruru Madrid, Zandra Summer, Arny Ross, Japs De Luna, and Vien Allen King.

"This week, the Top 15 will move on to the next round of competition as they will be featured in five short films with special guest celebrity, Diamond Star Ms. Maricel Soriano. Under the helm of award-winning director Brillante Mendoza and written by Palanca awardee Floy Quintos, these films will be aired on Protégé this Sunday, August 26.

"The Top 15 protégés are definitely hard at work on their performances for the short films, hoping to wow the judges and rustle up enough support from the public to avoid getting the cut from the next round of elimination.

"Who will shine the most this week? Who will be eliminated this Sunday?

"Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break airs after iBilib on GMA-7."
