Controversial contestant Kedebon leaves The X Factor Philippines

The X Factor Philippines judge-mentor Martin Nievera told controversial contestant, Kedebon Colim, during the results night: "It's time to go home, boy."

Martin was the third judge who voted to send home the 18-year-old singer from Cebu. Even though Kedebon belonged to the Boys' category being mentored by Martin, the Concert King himself decided to end the journey of the aspiring singer.

The "Bottom 2” this week were Daddy’s Home and Kedebom Colim. For their showdown, Kedebon performed “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias while Daddy’s Home gave a soulful rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately.”

Judge-mentors Pilita Corrales and Gary Valenciano decided to save Daddy's Home while Martin decided to end Kedebon's stay on the reality show.

Martin explained himself by saying, "Before I say anything and I make my decision, I want everyone to know, in front of us right now are people searching for a dream. How do you weigh a dream? There's a person smaller in number and in size who has gone through so much hate. I admire you Kedebon, you're my hero. Your fans will be with you till the day you die. Don't ever lose your spirit."

Martin was visibly emotional when he said: "If there's anyone here tonight who's gonna send you home, I'm gonna bring you home. Kedebon, it's time to go home, boy."

Before leaving the show, Kedebon gave his final message for all his supporters: “I want to thank my God. Top 6, grabe hindi ako makapaniwala. Sobrang na-prove ko na nothing is impossible talaga. I really thank sa mga sumusuporta sa akin at bumoboto. Di ako makapaniwala na binoto ninyo ako…”

Martin told the public: “To all those who bash Kedebon, shame on you. Here stands a champion, my hero: Kedebon!”

As a result, Jeric Medina, Gabriel Maturan, Allen Sta. Maria, KZ Tandingan, and the all-male singing group Daddy's Home are in the Top 5 of ABS-CBN's reality singing competition.

"Bye Kedebon" became one of the top trending topics in the Philippines on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
