PRESS STATEMENT FROM GMA-7:
"GMA Network thru its sales and marketing arm, GMA Marketing and Productions, Inc. (GMPI), was once again recognized for creating relevant and inspiring Christmas Short Films that remain to be an annual holiday tradition of GMA.
"Last December 7, the Kapuso Network brought home key recognitions at the 2012 Araw Values Awards Night for two of its 2011 Christmas Short Films – “Kabisera” and the 2012 International Ad Stars Award-winning “Hating Kapatid” – in the Branded Communication division.
"Organized by the Advertising Foundation of the Philippines, the Araw Values Advertising Awards recognizes socially-relevant and responsible advertising as well as marketing communications initiatives in the media industry.
"Kabisera bagged a bronze award under the “Reverence for Family Unity, Marriage and Responsible Parenthood” category for upholding the importance of sharing a special moment with the family during the holiday season. Under the direction of Dragon Pineda, Kabisera featured Isay Alvarez and was done in cooperation with Alaska Condensada.
"Likewise, Hating Kapatid, which tells of two siblings who each got a new set of shoes for Christmas after sharing a worn down pair, won a bronze award under the “Respect and Care for Human Life and Dignity and the Rights of All” category. Starring Perla Bautista and Martin delos Santos, this widely-commended short film highlighting the essence of giving was jointly produced with SO LUCKY Soda Crackers, and was directed by Louie Ignacio.
"Once again, GMA carries on with its yearly tradition and extends the same Yuletide spirit on the 7thyear of its Christmas Short Films. The films currently air during commercial breaks over GMA and GMA News TV, and star some of the brightest Kapuso actors today.
"The new Christmas Short films as well as the award-winning films can also be seen on GMA’s Short Films channel on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/gmashorts)."
