Carl Guevarra wants to try action; Bukod Kang Pinagpala slated to end on June 7

Carl Guevarra's afternoon teleserye, Bukod Kang Pinagpala (BKP), will air its finale episode on June 7 on GMA-7.

When PEP.ph had the chance to talk with Carl, he says: "Medyo last two weeks na namin ng taping.

BKP followed the lives of three women thrust into a complex web of deceit, ambition, and hope as they fight for the love of one child, Lara/Cindy (Mona Louise Rey).

The three mothers were played by Camille Prats, Jennica Garcia and Jackie Rice. Carl as Andrew Alfonso plays the love interest of Jennica's Ofelia Almazan. She raised the child as her own, calling her Lara, all the while concealing her identity.

What was the best part of working on BKP?

Mark Anthony plays Leandro Alcuar who longs for a child, which, unfortunately, his wife Bessie (Camille Prats) cannot give him.

What was it like working with Mark Anthony? "Si Mark Anthony, first time ko makawork, okay naman, very professional, masaya siyang kasama atsaka marami siyang jokes."

Did Mark Anthony teach or give Carl advice? "Advice, oo.

What should viewers expect in the last weeks of BKP?

WHAT'S NEXT FOR CARL. Is anything being worked out for Carl's next project?

Talent manager Perry Lansigan manages Carl's career aside from others in PPL Entertainment Inc. such as Dingdong Dantes, Jolina Magdangal, LJ Reyes, Angelika dela Cruz, Rochelle Pangilinan, Max Collins, Gabby Eigenmann, Geoff Eigenmann, Arthur Solinap and Janno Gibbs.

If he were to choose though, Carl admits, "Indie gusto ko. Nagka-indie na ako, isa pa lang. So, gusto ko masundan ulit."

He is referring to Bing Lao's Biyaheng Lupa, a 2008 Cinemanila International Film Festival entry that also starred Shamaine Buencamino, Jaclyn Jose, Coco Martin, Eugene Domino, Angel Aquino, Mercedes Cabral and Andoy Ranay.

Does he have any director in mind for his indie film?

Is Carl happy with the flow and pace his career is going?

Carl first gained fame by winning the Be Bench/The Model Search.

He has been cast in shows with leading ladies such as Kris Bernal and Jennica Garcia. Who would he like to work with for his next project?

"Sila Marian [Rivera] siyempre, di ba, sila Carla [Abellana]," he enumerates about the leading ladies on his wish list.

He is just very comfortable working with Jennica already, "Siyempre parang halos magkapatid na yung turing niya sa akin, kapatid na, kahit na leading lady ko siya, para hindi na nagkakahiyaan sa isa't-isa."

Following the heavy drama of BKP, does Carl still want that in his next project? "Gusto ko yung ano...kasi ngayon more on drama eh, gusto ko naman yung action at kahit paano comedy din."
