Amalia Fuentes will star in an ABS-CBN project after all.
The former queen of Filipino cinema, whose film career spanned from the 1950s up to the 1970s, will have a special participation in the Judy Ann Santos-starrer Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.
Amalia is cast as a doctor who will have a pivotal role in the life of Juday's character named Anessa. This primetime show also stars Sam Milby and KC Concepcion.
It will be recalled that Amalia resigned as an actress for the soap opera Muling Buksan ang Puso because of "creative differences with the production team and the challenges and demands of regular taping schedules."

Muling Buksan ang Puso would have been her reunion project with fellow movie queen Susan Roces. Amalia has been replaced in this soap opera by Pilar Pilapil.
In an exclusive interview with Mario Dumaual of TV Patrol, the veteran actress admitted, "I am so thankful. First of all to God and to ABS-CBN for giving me this second chance.
"Now I have a very, very high regard for artists who are doing teleseryes because hard work pala ang involved dito."
Amalia is glad that their teleserye has an advocacy that targets women. "This is about women empowerment. This will be my cause because naaawa ako sa mga babaeng inaapi-api."
The 72-year-old actress is impressed by Juday who has been tagged as the "Queen of Pinoy Soap Opera."
Amalia enthused, "Sobrang galing ng batang ito. She can cry at the drop of a pin. Oh My God! Hindi ko pa ito na-experience. Hindi pa ako dapat umiyak pero I cry with her."
