ABS-CBN invests P200M in TV home-shopping business with Korean home-shopping giant

Inilunsad ang O Shopping Channel sa ABS-CBN compound noong Martes, October 29, 2013.


Dumalo sa naturang launch ang mga executives ng Philippine TV network at ng CJ O Shopping Corporation ng Korea, isa sa mga pinakamalaking home shopping companies na naglunsad na rin ng home shopping channels sa Shanghai, Tianjin, at Guangzhou sa China, pati na sa India, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, at Turkey.

A CJ O Shopping Corporation ang tawag sa nasabing venture ng ABS-CBN at ng Korean company na CJ O Corporation.

Umaabot sa tinatayang P200 milyon ang investment ng Kapamilya network sa nasabing partnership.

Sa speech ni ABS-CBN Chief Executive Officer Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III sa nasabing press launch, sinabi niya na hindi na bago ang home shopping venture sa ABS-CBN.

Tinangka ng ABS-CBN na pasukin ang industriyang ito noong 1990, subalit hindi nagtagal ay isinara rin.

Pahayag ni Lopez, “We closed it down a few years after and walked away with a valuable lesson: we need a strong and competent partner.

“ABS-CBN is in the business of reaching audiences, so we needed a partner in the business in selling great products.

“Last year, we finally found the right partner, CJ O Shopping from Korea.”

Dagdag pa ng ABS-CBN executive, positibo ang feedback na nakukuha nila nang simulan nila ang pagpapalabas ng O Shopping programs.

“The last two weeks of test broadcast have shown very encouraging results,” ani Lopez.

Umere ang O Shopping programs noong October 15 na nagbebenta ng mga gamit pangkusina, pambahay, pang-ehersisyo, pampaganda, at iba pang produkto sa abot-kayang halaga.

Dagdag naman ni ABS-CBN Business Development Head Paolo Pineda, “Sometimes people don’t have the chance to go out and shop for themselves for things they need at home.

“We are offering consumers better service and better options as life becomes more mobile and hectic.”

Tiwala naman ang Korean company na tama ang kanilang naging desisyon na makipag-partner sa ABS-CBN na nasabing business venture.

Ang O Shopping ay mapapanood buong araw sa SkyCable at Destiny Channel 11, sa Studio 23 mula 1:00 a.m. hanggang 2:00 a.m. at 5:00 a.m. hanggang 6:00 a.m. ng Lunes hanggang Biyernes, at tuwing Sabado at Linggo mula 1:00 a.m. hanggang 2:00 a.m.


Ang mga hosts dito ay sina Victor Anastacio, Charlotte Barredo, Cara Eriguel, Hiyasmin Neri, Lara Sayo, at Virginia Pozon.

Mapapanood din ito sa ABS-CBN pagkatapos ng Banana Nite mula Lunes hanggang Biyernes; pagkatapos ng Sports Unlimited tuwing Sabado; at pagkatapos ng Sunday’s Best pagsapit ng Linggo.
