GMA Marketing and Productions, Inc. (GMPI), the sales and marketing arm of GMA Network wins big in 2013. This year, GMPI received recognition from various marketing award-giving bodies for their branded content, most notably for their Kapuso Mini Sine campaign.
The Kapuso Mini Sine produced for Champion Detergent titled "Gustin" recently received a special citation from the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) under the Best TV Ad category for “effectively showing the value of honesty and the role of the family in instilling values in young ones” and was also a finalist in the Best TV Special category.
Earlier in the year, the film received a Bronze for Advocacy in the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) Tambuli Awards and was a finalist in multiple categories at the prestigious Busan International Advertising Festival (Ad Stars). "Gustin" was inspired by a news report on 24 Oras. It features an underprivileged boy from Bulacan who finds a bag filled with money and is determined to return it to the rightful owner.
Similarly, “Aruga,” the Kapuso Mini Sine produced for Ceelin, was recognized as one of the finalists in the CMMA, also for Best TV Ad, and was awarded a Silver trophy for Family Oriented Brand in the UA&P Tambuli Awards. “Aruga” is a touching story that revolves around the relationship of a deaf mother and her son.
For Champion Detergent, Jasper C. Tiu, VP of Sales and Marketing of Peerless Products Manufacturing Corp., shares that they “celebrate these kinds of stories, in the hopes that it inspires more and more people to continue beingtapat.”
Of the Ceelin short film, Grace Felicio, AVP of Consumer Insight and Media of Unilab expresses her gratitude and notes that it “looks like it’s touching a lot of hearts.”
The two materials also garnered praise online with Twitter users remarking that the message imparted by the storylines serve as an inspiration to many Filipinos.
Several other GMPI spearheaded projects have received recognition this year as well. “My Chubby World Big Adventure” for Rebisco’s Chubby Chewy Candy and the GMA Christmas Short Film: “Homecoming” for Alaska Crema were also finalists in the CMMA Best Children and Youth Program and Best TV Ad categories respectively.
The 2011 GMA Christmas Short Film: “Hating Kapatid” for So Lucky Soda Crackers earned a Gold award in the Family Oriented Brand category; and the entire 2012 GMA Christmas Short Film Festival with the participation of Del Monte Philippines, Inc., KFC Philippines, Alaska Milk Corporation and Cebuana Lhuillier with a Bronze for Integrated Branded Content and Entertainment.
This year’s set of GMA Christmas Short Films are currently airing on both GMA-7 and GMA News TV.
