ABS-CBN's flagship news program TV Patrol celebrates its 20th year of bringing news to Filipinos with a special documentary titled TV Patrol: Dalawampung Taon ng Pagpapatrol airing this Sunday, November 25, at 10:45 p.m.
The special one-hour documentary will highlight TV Patrol's firsts, its legacy, and its defining moments. In addition, it will give the audience an idea on what to look forward to in the coming years.
ABS-CBN corporate communications head Bong Osorio said, "TV Patrol: Dalawampung Taon ng Pagpapatrol goes back in time to relive history—the stories that were told, the people who made the news and the faces who brought the news to the people."
For 20 years, TV Patrol has been faithfully serving Filipinos by being bringing them information against all odds. One of the show's historic moments happened during the Martial Law when the reporters broke enforced media silence and brought information to the people.
TV Patrol World continues to pursue this dedication to truth and constantly involves responsible members of society through citizen journalism, which was first applied in "Hoy Gising." This was originally a TV Patrol segment that later turned into a long-running public service program.
The use of technology also sustained TV Patrol World's segment "Citizen Patrol" and ABS-CBN's election campaign, "Boto Mo iPatrol Mo," which recently won the Award for Excellence in the Philippine Gold Quill Awards and Honorable Mention in the Asia Pacific PR Awards.
Former reporters and anchors Korina Sanchez, Jay Sonza, Freddie Garcia, and Angelique Lazo will be seen in this anniversary offering. Vice-President Noli De Castro will also grace this special retrospective.
