Last Sunday, March 30, ABS-CBN aired the said station ID dubbed as “PINASmile: Masayang Muli ang Kwento ng Summer Natin.”
In a statement, the Kapamilya Network disclosed that it aims to show that Filipinos can always make it through calamities with a smile.
The 2014 summer SID also "aims to promote the Philippines as a unique travel destination that takes pride in the beauty of each region, the country's colorful culture, and of course, the stories behind the unique and infectious smiles of Pinoys."
Robert Labayen, the head of ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management, was quoted as saying: “Filipinos will always choose to smile amidst hardships; we find happiness even in the small things. We know how to be grateful and remain positive. We believe in the goodness of others. Indeed, despite the calamities that severely damaged our country, the Filipino optimism shines through.”
The theme song titled “PINASmile” was interpreted by today’s hottest loveteam Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
Kapamilya stars and news personalities were tasked to be the smile seekers and went to different parts of the country to immortalize these blissful moments with their own cameras.
Kris Aquino, for example, took photos and even selfies with Ivatan women in Batanes.
Meanwhile, Andi Eigenmann and Bea Alonzo roamed around Luneta taking pictures of families and friends bonding around the famous park. Angelica Panganiban, John Prats, and Zanjoe Marudo, on other hand, captured the smiles of residents in Mt. Pinatubo.
The cast members of Dyesebel, namely Anne Curtis, Gerald Anderson and Sam Milby, were shown swimming and splashing around water.
Anne, who is wearing a black bikini, is even shown jumping from a bamboo raft into the water.
Also included in the itinerary are provinces that were severely devastated by disasters last year, particularly Bohol, Samar, and Leyte.
“The positive stories and warm smiles from these hard-hit provinces are testaments of how brave and happy Filipinos could be despite the tragedies that our fellow countrymen went through,” explained Labayen. “Let’s make our summer story worth smiling about again, and show the world that the Philippines is one happy place worth visiting and coming back to.”
The “PINASmile: Masayang Muli ang Kwento ng Summer Natin” theme song was written by Robert Labayen, Lloyd Oliver Corpuz, Christer Salire, Revbrain Martin, Jill Cabradilla-Aspiras, Mark Raywin Tome, and Christine Daria Estabillo. Its music was composed, arranged and produced by Bojam and Thyro of FlipMusic, mixed and mastered by RB "Kidwolf" Barbaso and Bojam, and acoustic guitars by Nica Del Rosario. It was directed by Paolo Emmanuel Ramos and Peewee Gonzales.
The 2014 ABS-CBN Summer Station ID was created by ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management headed by Robert Labayen, Johnny Delos Santos, Patrick de Leon and Ira Zabat.
