Sunshine Cruz is now gearing up for her next TV project.

The 41-year-old actress was last seen in the GMA-7 daytime series Kapag Nahati Ang Puso, which aired from July to November 2018.

It was her first Kapuso project after nine years.

When PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Sunshine about her next TV assignment, she answered, "Meron. Very soon!

"Mahirap pa kasi siyempre, wala pa tayong schedule, hanggang wala pang definite date.

"So, hindi ko pa masasabi pero yeah, meron. Soon! Malalaman niyo."

When asked which network, she answered, "ABS."

ABS refers to ABS-CBN, the rival network of GMA-7 where Sunshine did projects since making a showbiz comeback in 2013.

Sunshine clarified that she is still a freelance actress.

Now that she's with the Kapamilya network after doing one project with GMA-7, Sunshine explained that she goes to the network that offers her projects.

"Kung saan mayroong project tayo, siyempre nga, like lagi ko namang sinasabi, very thankful ako sa mga projects na dumadating sa akin.

"And being a single mom, nagdadalaga na yung mga anak natin.

"Siyempre, kailangan, trabaho galore tayo. Kung saan may dumadating na oportunidad sa atin, go lang nang go hanggang kaya pa, hanggang malakas pa, di ba?"

PEP.ph spoke to Sunshine during the March 12 press conference of Mystified at Ascott Hotel in Bonifacio Global City.

VILLAIN IN MYSTIFIED

Meanwhile, Sunshine is part of the iFlix original series, Mystified, which showcases the reunion of Encantadia stars Sunshine Dizon, Iza Calzado, Karylle, and Diana Zubiri.

For this project directed by Mark Reyes, Sunshine was required to do fight scenes.

She recalled, "Meron akong fight scene with Iza. Ang galing niya sa fight scenes!

"Ako, it’s something new for me kasi before, mga double-double lang, e.

"So, this time around, mayroon din akong fight scene. At saka, siyempre, very powerful, e.

"Supposedly yung arte, malandi, parang arte-arte ganyan, pero ano din, very powerful kasi gusto ko dito i-wipeout yung mga non-magic folks and I want to get yung powers of the four witches kasi that’s how obsessed I am with power.

"Kasi alam ko na kapag nakuha ko yung power nila, ako yung magiging pinakamalakas, so, yun yung gusto kong mangyari dito, yun yung plano ko."

Sunshine admitted that she had a hard time doing the movie because after so many years, she was once again part of a fantasy project.

"Mahirap kasi ang gagaling na artista yung mga kasama ko.

"Yung mga may effects-effects, it’s something new sa akin, kung paano i-a-acting na natamaan ako, sumabog sa likod ko, mayroon akong pinasabog, yung mga ganon.

"Pero it is, at the same time, very challenging and nagpapasalamat ako kay Direk Mark kasi sila...parang gamay na nila since Encantadia pa, pero inalalayan nila akong lahat.

"Aside from doon sa mga artista, pati yung director and staff talagang ang babait and komportable ako sa kanila."
