Lea Salonga defends Sarah Geronimo against online bashers.
The Broadway artist took to Twitter to defend her fellow The Voice coach from netizens who questioned Sarah’s capability to become a coach in ABS-CBN's reality singing talent competition.
Negative comments were thrown at Sarah when one of her two representatives on The Voice Kids, Lyca Gairanod, was proclaimed the grand champion last Sunday.
The other finalist of Team Sarah, Darren Espanto, got the second highest number of votes during the two-night finale.
Bamboo Mañalac’s student, Juan Karlos Labajo, placed third on The Voice Kids. Meanwhile, Lea’s finalist, Darlene Vibares, took the last spot.
In another Twitter post, Lea revealed that The Voice Season 1 coach, Black Eyed Peas member The Apl.de.ap, might not be able to join her, Sarah, and Bamboo Mañalac in the next season.
Not sure what @apldeap's schedule looks like... I'd love for him to return. But, the man is busy, too. Pero sana, ipaunlakan niya tayo muli.— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) July 30, 2014
She also expressed excitement about the new coach who will join their group.
Right now, The Voice coaches will be on vacation, before blind auditions take place after five weeks.
Sooooooo... sino kaya ang magiging pang-apat na coach sa #TVOPSeason2? Sa totoo lang, hindi ko rin alam!!!— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) July 30, 2014
Lea Salonga was the coach of Mitoy Yonting, champion of The Voice of the Philippines season one.
