Teri Malvar changes screen name to Therese Malvar; signs up with GMA Artist Center

2013 Cine Filipino Film Festival Best Actress awardee Therese Malvar (she has changed her name from Teri) recently signed up with GMA Artist Center. She is part of the indie film Tumbang Preso, which will open in cinemas on October 8.



Teri Malvar made waves last year when she was able to beat Nora Aunor during the 2013 Cine Filipino Film Festival.

The 13-year-old young star was the lead actress in Ang Huling Cha Cha ni Anita while Nora topbilled Ang Kwento ni Mabuti.

This 2014, Teri now goes by a new screen name: Therese Malvar. She has recently signed up with GMA Artist Center.

She won Best Actress for her portrayal of a lesbian girl in the acclaimed indie film Ang Huling Cha Cha ni Anita directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo.

Therese just finished the film Tumbang Preso (In The Can), which is the first feature film of Kip Oebanda which is slated to open October 8 with a premiere night on September 29.

She is also in the cast of the Cinema One Originals entry Bitukang Manok directed by Alec Figuracion.

Expect to see Therese in upcoming Kapuso shows. She is handled for GMAAC by Tracy Garcia and Ferdinand Lapuz for FDL Entertainment.
