We’ve been seeing a lot of trends in fashion, gadgets, and even television shows making a comeback. Don’t be surprised if Tabing Ilog follows suit. There have been recent talks of “rebooting” the youth-oriented series with the same cast all “grown up” with a more mature audience in mind.
Inspired by the popular American show Dawson Creek, Tabing Ilog premiered in 1999 and gained a cult following. The show explored the friendship, the challenges, and the ups and downs of adolescent life.
John Lloyd Cruz, Jodi Sta. Maria, Patrick Garcia, Paula Peralejo, Desiree del Valle, Paolo Contis, Baron Geisler, and Kaye Abad were the stars of the show who have become prominent figures in showbiz.
Actor Baron Geisler mentioned in a recent interview with ABS-CBN News that there are talks of the Tabing Ilog stars reuniting for a project.
“Si Direk Malu [Sevilla] nakakausap ko. Sabi niya gusto niyang gumawa ng pelikula or series na Tabing Ilog reunion na malalaki na kami.”
Tabing Ilog had a good run, from 1999 with its final episode in 2003.
“Game ako diyan, but we need John Lloyd for this to make it work," said Baron.
John Lloyd Cruz is currently on an indefinite leave from showbiz.
“Of course, hopefully, ma contact ko si Lloydie, Nami-miss na kita Lloydie man, I miss you, man. I hope to work with you soon.”
Baron continues to play the character of Bungo in Ang Probinsyano.
