Ryan Agoncillo on co-hosting "Sugod Bahay" segment of Eat Bulaga: "Every day is different. Every barangay is different and the situations that you get subjected to every day. So in my 20 years of hosting, ngayon rookie ako ulit.”

“It’s my day job, it’s my daily duty.

“It’s nice because what’s supposed to be a daily routine is exciting on a daily basis, you know,” lahad ni Ryan.

"Every day is different. Every barangay is different and the situations that you get subjected to every day.

“So in my 20 years of hosting, ngayon rookie ako ulit.”

Dahil?

“Because it’s ano, e, barangay hosting is a different animal. It’s very unpredictable.

“Every 15 seconds, every half minute, every minute nag-iiba yung sitwasyon.

"And you have to react to it, and you have to trust your teammates, kasi siyempre ang mga pioneer diyan, si Jose, si Wally, si Paolo.

“And hindi puwedeng... hindi kasi puwedeng ano, e, hindi kasi puwedeng papatay-patay.

“So I’m learning something very new that I haven’t done in 20 years. It’s very exciting!”

A DIFFERENT CHALLENGE

“It’s difficult for me to answer, e!

“So, studio for me now, after several months in the barangay, ibang challenge din siya.

“It’s not something I’m used to anymore.

“So, basta you have to trust your teammates pag ganun ang situation.”

“Siguro ngayon, at 40 years old, yung acting, I see it very differently.

I haven’t done it in such a long time, e.

“So I’m pretty sure if I get into it, I’ll enjoy it.

“Hosting kasi, iyon yung... I mean, it’s what pays the bills, it puts food on the table.

"And iyon nga, it’s just that I’m lucky na after 20 years of hosting, meron pa rin akong natututunan.

“And you know, not a lot of hosts are given that opportunity.

"So parang... although, I must say, you know, your question nga, acting or hosting, yung acting ngayon, I feel like ngayon ko siya mas naiintindihan.

“So, I’m sure given a particular challenge, I’d relish that also.”

EAT BULAGA DABARKADS

Ayon kay Ryan, “It’s mind-boggling! I’m as old as the show.

"So, imadyinin mo, literal na ipinapanganak yung show, ipinapanganak din ako so…

“And for me to be part of it for the past 10 years, parang ano siya, ‘ika nga ni Joey [de Leon], para siyang panaginip!

“And at 10 years in, I’m only seeing a part of the show now that’s I’m slowly learning.

"And ayun, natuto ako nang marami, kay Tito, Vic, and Joey.

“Ngayon naman, natututo ako kay JoWaPao!

"They’re very generous, you know, Jose, Wally, and Paolo are very generous in making me feel welcome in the barangay.

“And that’s a very big part of why I enjoy being in the barangay.

"Kasi, feeling ko, ano ako ulit, bagito.

“Hindi lahat ng kuwarenta anyos na,” at tumawa si Ryan, “yung may tsansang maging bagito, pero ilalaban ka nila, yung isama ka sa bakbakan and on a daily basis for six days a week, that’s bound to teach you something and I’m learning a lot,” nakangiting pagtatapos ni Ryan.
