Angel Locsin believes that the high ratings that The General's Daughter was able to register is also because of its preceding program, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.
This was her answer when PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked her to react to the fact that The General's Daughter was able to take over the No. 1 slot in the ratings game. As a result, consistent top-rater FPJ's Ang Probinsyano landed on the number two slot.
This happened on September 6, when The General's Daughter registered 32.8% while FPJ's Ang Probinsyano got 32.4%, according to Kantar Media.
Dreamscape Entertainment is the drama unit producing Ang Probinsyano and The General's Daughter.
Angel spoke to PEP.ph and to other reporters during the finale press conference of The General's Daughter yesterday, September 26, at Dolphy Theater.
The General's Daughter is set to air its final episode on Friday, October 4.
At this point, Angel took the opportunity to thank Dreamscape Entertainment Head Deo Endrinal for trusting her to do action scenes again.
It may be recalled that Angel had restrictions in doing action scenes because of a disc bulge that developed on her spine.
She said, "At gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa Dreamscape for trusting me, especially kay Sir Deo.
Angel also pointed out that other people got scared of letting her do action because of the disc bulge.
It took five years before Angel could star in her own TV series.
During the press conference for The General's Daughter last January, she said that she cannot accept a full-length teleserye because of Darna.
Unfortunately, Angel had to drop the project because of her disc bulge.
Now that Angel managed to finish The General's Daughter for more than eight months—her longest-running teleserye to date—the actress is excited to work on more projects.
"Ako kasi, five years yung break ko so gusto ko magtrabaho ulit. Pero siguro for a few months pahinga muna ako, may mga aasikasuhin munang personal, and then back to work uli bago ikasal.
