Kris Aquino wants to become an entrepreneur to ensure the financial security of her family.
In the October 29 episode of her morning show Kris TV, she clarified that she used her own money when she acquired a franchise of a popular fast food chain.
Kris pointed out: "I want to clear that conception. A lot of my friends have asked, 'is this [franchise] part of your renewal package?'
"This is my hard-earned cash. Pera ko 'to talaga.
"Hindi ito galing sa talent fee because I felt I would have less at stake kung talent fee lang, so kailangan talaga galing sa pera na pinag-ipunan.
"Hindi ito parang ex-deal lang."
The TV host-actress revealed that she realized the need to invest her own money into businesses when she ventured into producing movies.
"Na-experience ko 'yan sa pag-produce ng movies."
She disclosed that she wants to become a businesswoman for the sake of her sons Bimby and Joshua.
"The reason also na pinasok ko 'to is that I should have several fast food franchises because this is for the future of my sons. Kasi parang inisip ko: How much longer can I work at this level that I work? And fame is so fleeting."
The ABS-CBN actress admits that she thought about making an exit from showbiz when she reaches her 20th anniversary.
This year marks the 18th year of Kris in the showbiz industry.
"Sobrang suwerte ko na 18 na years na ako dito. May cutoff ako. Sinabi ko na after 20 years, sana I can walk away gracefully. Pero siyempre naman kailangan mabuhay ng mga anak ko."
