As the finale draws near, Hawak Kamay lead actor Piolo Pascual recalls how the show became a way for the stars and staff members to build a strong relationship.
“Masaya ako kasi 'yong family na nabuo namin, not just sa characters, nabuo ang Hawak Kamay,” said Piolo during last week's press conference for the finale of the ABS-CBN primetime show.
He added, “Ang sarap kasi simulan ang isang bagay but at the same time, as much as you want to grow, but every journey has to end in time. Masaya ang buong family.
“Makikita mo talaga sa bahay how we all started.
“It's so close to heart kasi nasi napaka-intact ng family, of course, nag-transcend 'yon sa isang pagkakaibigan sa totoong buhay.”
Piolo, however, understands that every program really has come to an end.
He related, “As much as it is nakakalungkot, maganda naman kasi na alam mong napa-compact ng istorya.
“Pero 'yon lang naman talaga ang kayang gawan ng istorya kasi we really fleshed out all the contents of all the characters.”
For four months, Hawak Kamay has been consistent in creating a story centered on family concerns that is very relevant to the modern-day Filipino family.
The Kapamilya actor takes pride in this show that showcased the talents of Zaijian Jaranilla, Xyriel Manabat, Andrea Brillantes, Yesha Camille as well as The Voice Kids contestants Lyca Gairanod and Juan Karlos Labajo.
“Hindi namin makakalimutan ito,” he said.
“Masasabi mo talaga na hindi lang pinagtuunan ng pansin.
“Lahat ng utak tumulong para makabuo ng magandang kwento, to come up with something new, at hindi pa napapanood ng mga tao.”
